Former Vice President and current environmental activist Al Gore is in Boston today to make an announcement with Boston Mayor Thomas Menino about the launch of the "Renew Boston" program, which is aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions by the city.Boston has received $6.5 million in federal stimulus money to start the program. Part of the money will be used to start a program that will retrofit and weatherize buildings across the city. The rest of the money will be used on municipal solar-electric, solar-thermal, and wind energy projects.
